Description
A small "Jugenstil" silver chalice made by the well known German silversmiths Bruckmann & Söhne from Heilbrunn (1905 - 1973).
The Chalice has a hexagonal foot and tapering stem decorated with leaves and lobes. The bowl itself is round and is engraved in German on the outside: "PREIS GEG. U. EINEM MITGLIED D. RENNVEREIN - REITTURNIER INGOLSTADT 1914" (translates roughly into: Price for a member of the horserace club - horse show Ingolstadt (Southern Germany) 1914.
The Chalice is fully hallmarked underneath the foot, in accordance of the post 1888 unified hallmarking system: National mark (Crecent and crown) Silver Finess 800 (800/1000) And Bruckmann & Söhne mark (Eagle). and "10" most likely 1910.
