Artist
A.D. Copier (Leerdam, The Netherlands 1901 – Wassenaar, The Netherlands 1991) was the best know glassartist in The Netherlands. In the very long period he was employed by the Royal Dutch Glassworks at Leerdam, through his designs he gave the name “Leerdam” international fame.
What is striking about Copier is its almost inexhaustible urge to experiment, renew and prove himself as a designer. He tries not only to invent beautiful things, but also thinks about the applicability of the design to the material.
